The Cape Cod /Farris Windmill is the oldest windmill in America, built in 1633 in Massachusetts and was shipped to Henry Ford's Greenfield Village in 1936, settlers from Dutch/Holland came to Massachusetts and built this Windmill on West Yarmouth Road to Massachusetts.
The Farris Family ran this Windmill for 3 generations, Windmills were an early power source in the 1600's and hundreds of Tower Mills lined the East coast of Colonial America, The Cape Cod/ Farris windmill was constructed onto a stone base foundation for safety purposes to raise the sails -You can View this Beautiful Historic Windmill at Henry Ford / Greenfield Village in Michigan.
