The P-51 Mustang is long range, single seat fighter and fighter -bomber used in World War II and the Korean War, first flight was 1940 as a tactical-reConnaissance Aircraft and Fighter Bomber then a replacement engine ,a rolls Royce Merlin resulted in the P-51 Model and transformed the performance with altitudes above 15,000 ft allowing the aircraft to compete with the German Luftwaffe's Fighters.
The P-51 Mustang were used by the USAAF's Eighth Air Force to Escort Bombers in raids over Germany, while Second tactical Air Force and Ninth Air Force used the Mustangs as Fighter-Bombers, which helped ensure Allied Air Superiority in 1944 and was armed with six .50 caliber (12.7mm) M2/AN Browning Machine Guns and top speed was 450 mph.
The F-16 Viper is the latest variant of the F-16 Fighting Falcon Fourth Generation, Multi-Role,Fighter Aircraft manufactured by Lockheed Martin. The Viper integrates advanced capabilities as part of an upgrade package to better interoperate with fifth-generation fighters,including the F-35 and the F-22.
The F-16 Viper has the Max Speed of MACH 2 and weapon System is armed with Air to air Missiles AIM-9 Sidewinders, Magic II and ASRAAM Short Range AAM's, as well as AIM-7, SKY FLASH and AIM-120 medium range AAM's. The high off bore sight, infrared AAM's such as AIM-9X, Python IV,AIM-132 ASRAAM and IRIS-T will also be offered.
The F-16 Viper Fighter Jet is powered by a single Pratt 7 Whitney F100-PW-229 or a General Electric F110-GE-129 turbofan engine. TheF100-PW-229 developes a thrust of 29,100ib, whereas the F110-GE-129 generates a power of 29,500Ib. The power Plant provides the aircraft with a maximum speed of mach 2 and a range of 1,740 miles.
