The MiG-17F was made famous by the Vietnam War, and was the Primary enemy Aircraft engaged in the skies over Vietnam by U.S. Aircraft, such as the A-4,A-7,F-8,B-52,F100,F105 and its primary nemesis, the F-4 Phantom II.
the MiG-17F started production in the 1950's, built with a VK-!F Engine made it the first jet fighter in the world with afterburners and could carry Bombs,rockets and extra fuel tanks.
The MiG-17F was a air to air combat Jet Fighter for the Soviet Bloc Countries, with two 23mm cannon's and one 37mm cannon, and can maintain 8g turnsand attain a maximum speed of 715 mph (mach1.04) and can climb to 30,000 feet in 3 minutes at 14,000 feet per minute.
Randy Ball from Texas has a fully restored Mig-17F and flys in Airshow Worldwide and also in hollywood movies.
